In you word document, submit a 2 - 3-paragraph problem statement

Customer Question

In you word document, submit a 2 - 3-paragraph problem statement describing the need for the database you are creating. The statement should overview the current environment, what your database will do, and how the environment will be better after they start using your database. This should be a unique problem, we do not want you to reinvent the wheel. For example, there are countless sales, marketing, ERP, CRM, etc database solutions. Build something for which a solution does not exist! Another sales database, for example, will result in partial credit because it is not original.

Please submit the project in one Microsoft Word file. We require that you submit your SQL code for the final project as it has to be run through an online database to assure no one else wrote the code. Screenshots should be below each piece of code. I cannot grade your final project without your code and screenshots so please be diligent on this. As always, the screenshot should contain a date, your SQL at the top, the action tab, and the results of running that particular SQL below.
Entity Relationship Diagram

Submit an Entity Relationship Diagram of your entire database design according to the following guidelines:

Your database should include at least 5 tables.
Each table should be related to at least one other table.
You must identify all primary and foreign keys in all tables.
Your design should be in 3NF or higher (if not, you must document why).
Your database tables and fields should follow a consistent naming convention.

Submit the ERD as a screenshot in your word document.
SQL CREATE Statements

Submit the SQL Statements necessary to create your database according to the following guidelines:

Your SQL statements should exactly mirror your ERD.
All primary keys, foreign keys, and relationships should be implemented in your SQL statements.
You do not have to include the CREATE DATABASE command, as your instructor will assume the database has already been created and selected.
Include DROP TABLE statements before your CREATE TABLE statements so your script can be run multiple times.

Submit your SQL CREATE Statements (code for safe assign) followed by one screenshot for the create table script running.
SQL INSERT Statements

Submit SQL INSERT Statements that will populate the database with sample data. You must insert at least 5 records into each table in your database. Submit your SQL INSERT Statements (code for safe assign) followed by screenshots of your script running.
SQL SELECT Statements

Submit SQL SELECT Statements to demonstrate several reports off your database, according to the following guidelines:

You must submit at least 5 SELECT Statements.
Each statement must select data from more than one table.
Each table should be selected from by at least one statement.
You must use at least one aggregate function (e.g. sum, count, max, avg, etc.).
Each statement should have a WHERE clause.
Each statement should have an ORDER BY clause.
When selecting data from multiple tables, do not use "old-style joins" with the tables delimited in the FROM clause. Use the JOIN clause instead.

Each select statement / report requires a screenshot and the code in the final (1) Microsoft Word document.

The project is graded largely on originality. It should attempt to solve a business problem or idea that you have. For example, your dream startup company or a current problem at your place of work that needs a database. A basic school, university, customer or any other textbook example is not the goal. A new energy source for power would be another good example.

We do not want to see what someone else has designed, written, or created. This includes the textbook solutions; I should not see any re-designs from assignments or the textbook. We are grading you on what you learned, designed, created, and what you wrote not someone else!

See the rubric below for points on deliverables necessary to complete the final project successfully.
