Well then perhaps it is not firing?

Pull a spark plug lead use a spark plug and connect it to the lead. Hold it to the engine where it is making good contact. The have some one assisting you by cranking the engine, the plug should fire.

Is the battery fully charged?

Good then that part is good.

Perhaps the starter is cranking the engine to slow to start at this point.

You might want to charge the battery.

Did you check if there is fuel going into the engine when you pull on the accelerator?

When you installed the carburetor it was dry and it takes a while cranking the engine before it will get fuel so perhaps you drained the battery then. If when you jump the system does the cranking improve a lot?

Perhaps you poured to much fuel and flooded the engine

You can just pull on the accelerator to see if it squirt fuel into the engine

A thin stream of fuel down the venturi is good.

Does the choke set?

It's fine the filter will only fill half way. The squirt of fuel should be correct. There should be a big brass nut on the driver side of the carburetor remove it the main jet is inside the nut see if it not blocked.

I assume you have a 1200cc 1966 engine?

Good thanks. The main jet is inside the brass nut some times when one disconnect the fuel line dust will go into the pipe and when one reinstall it will deliver the dust straight into the carburetor float bowl. The dust will then settle into the jet when you crank the engine.

If the main jet is open then the problem might be something else. Why did you have the carburetor serviced in the first place?

I do not think the float is stuck it will overflow if it is stuck. Just remove the big brass nut on the side of the carburetor. the fuel will run out but the main jet is inside the nut see if it is open

The spark should be yellow/to blue it can be to weak to fire when it is under compression but it would usually be a single spark plug with a bad wire or plug. Can however be a faulty coil. firing to weak a spark. As you have stated that you where having starting problem before you serviced the carburetor. One can have the coil tested a auto electrical shop to see it firing a strong enough spark.

Okay that's good The fuel seems to be good too. You can put your hand over the carburetor inlet while someone is cranking the engine it should choke the engine with fuel and then take your hand of it might let the car start. Only put your hand a very short while over the inlet then take it off you should feel how the engine suck on you hand.
