Customer Question
I changed the intake...

I changed the intake manifold on my 2012 VW CC 2.0 TSI. It will crank but no fire. Checked for code has P2015

Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?

Tried to reset it but on re-read it is back. Does this immobilize the start

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your CC yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Yes, replaced PCV, Intake, decarborized the valves. Hooked it all back up. It will crank but not start. My old scan tool said P0343 - Camshaft Position Sensor. Checked this wiring all way back to ECM - all voltages & continuity is good. Scanned with newer scantool & now get P2015.

Does the fault come right back after you replace it ??

Cannot remember original code but research found it to be faulty intake. Replaced it plus PCV & did a thorough de carb of the inlet valves. The runner mechanism was shot when removed. On completion I attempted to start car but it would crank but not start. Checked with old scan tool it said P0343. Checked camshaft position sensor all ok. 5v between terms 1 & 3. Continuity checked good back to ecm all good. I got my new scan tool back from a friend & checked. It showed DTC P2015

We do these all the time and a intake runner usually will not cause a no start . Do you have fuel pressure and spark ??

Ask Your Own VW Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Not checked that yet
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I will check for this tomorrow
VW Mechanic: vwtech0405, VW Technician replied 4 months ago

This needs to be the next step we have had many issues with the timing chain on this motor if you have fuel and spark then you will need to remove the upper timing chain cover and check cam timing these chain tensioners have a high failure rate . I hope this helps please dont forget to provide feedback for the help provided thank you
