My car dies after startup and the epc light comes on
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: Light out & EPC
JA: What is the model/year of your VW?
Customer: and Air bag
JA: What year is your VW?
Customer: 2006
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes myself, nothing so far
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Does the car start and die right away ? do you have a key or immobilizer light blink when the car dies on the dash ??

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
starts, the after 30 seconds dies. I need to check on the immobilized light.

But it does run for 30 seconds??

Customer: replied 1 month ago.

ok more then likely you dont have a immobilizer issue because it runs for longer then 5 seconds since your epic light is coming on more then likely need a new crank sensor to know for sure you need to check the trouble codes stored in the ecm to see if you have a engine speed sensor . I hope this helps

Please dont forge to provide positive feedback/star rating thank you

Ok thanks. Ran codes at OReillys and there were no codes. Will price crank sensors.

Ok check this also make sure you are not loosing fuel pressure it could be a sign of a weak fuel pump .

Please dont forget to provide feedback thank you
