Customer Question

I have a 2.0/auto Jetta/2003 and when in D the shifting is beginning to make a clunky noise. When trying to gear into overdrive and back. If I use just the normal shifting from 1, 2, 3 then shifting is normal. I wonder if I need to have a new transmission control module.
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: No leaks and original
JA: What is the model of your '03 VW?
Customer: I think its a GL? I have the VIN#
JA: Are you fixing your GL yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: nothing system lights have come on and this issue has been occurring for three weeks according to my son
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hello my name is ***** ***** than you for using just answer. Does your shifter just have drive and the gears below, or does it have the ability to be shifted over to the right to manually shift the gears ( tiptronic mode). Just trying to establish which trans you have, thank you.
