I'm battery went dead and my radiio didn't come back on
JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: I have a new battery in
JA: What is the model/year of your VW?
Customer: 2004 Passat
JA: Are you fixing your Passat yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I had a shop put in the new battery and I got my ABS system fix at a VW Dealer
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It isn't uncommon for a radio to fail after a battery disconnect or jump start.

The first thing that should be done is check the fuse. If the fuse isn't blown then the next step would be to remove the radio and test it's power and ground feeds. If the power and ground feeds are present and the radio will not work then it will either need to be replaced or sent out to a repair facility such as United Radio.
