VDC 416 643 Breather hose, if it smokes what is that a symptom of?
JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you been losing oil or coolant?
Customer: 135,000 no and no.
JA: What is the model/year of your VW?
Customer: 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T.....not smoking now but it was.
JA: Are you fixing your Jetta yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: nothing, it just started. unclear on the function of all these hoses.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Car seem to be running okay other than that.

Are we talking minimal or alot of smoke from the PCV hose?

I assume you see this when removing the hose no longer allowing crankcase vapors to get to the intake?
