2003 vw beetle after charging battery car will crank but

Customer Question

2003 vw beetle after charging battery car will crank but will not continue to run even with gas pedal pressed

Does it start at all? If it starts and dies, is the immobilizer light on the dash cluster (car outline with a key in it)?

If it does not start, check the timing belt- unclip the cover and make a mark on the belt, and then try to crank it again, and then check to see if the mark on the timing belt has moved
