2004 tdi golf with air box etc out while bleeding brakes

2004 tdi golf
with air box etc out while bleeding brakes tried to start car (thinking may need boost)
Instead ignition went funny and ligts buzzers etc sounding
Disconnected battery pos and neg hoping to clear an error code nothing
when reconnect still buzzing etc no start....and had just been running fine

Are you sure the battery is not weak? The car will still start with the airbox out, even if the MAF is unplugged.

disconnecting the battery does not clear faults on a VW

Thought we are having is that for what ever reason the car has imobized the ignition...ideas?The ignition no longer clicks ready for the final just turns.....strange as the car was in fine form just minutes before as we had been bleeding breaks and I was just going to go through manually bleeding the ASB cube or what ever its called....I just thought ...hey lets start so we have boosted power for bleeding and then the ignition decided no.....

Immoibilizer on these will allow the car to start, then die in a few seconds.

You don't need to do anything extra to bleed the ABS pump, just bleed all four brake lines and that clears all the lines. The lines pass through the ABS pump.

Did you try jumping the battery?
