Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible: I just bought a 2003 Beetle

Customer Question

I just bought a 2003 Beetle Convertible for my granddaughter. I'm hearing a noise in the left front tire area when I get to about 30mph and above. the noise sounds like I'm running mudgrip tires. There is no vibration at all, engine runs great? Any ideas?

This just sounds like tire noise. These wear the edges and cause feathering. Run your hand on the inner edge. They will feel uneven. Frequent tire rotations will minimize this issue. Once they are cupped there is really nothing that can be done besides replace the tires
