Volkswagen Cabrio: My 200 Cabrio stopped running when I pushed

My 200 Cabrio stopped running when I pushed the clutch in. It restarted but would stop when I let the clutch out. Now it will not start at all. it will turn over but won't start. do you have any idea what could be wrong

I don't think it was necessarily related to the clutch operation, unless your clutch switch is shorting. You could always try disconnecting that switch (which will allow you to start it without pushing the clutch pedal in, so be careful) SInce it will crank over, I don't see that as the issue, as that should prevent you from even cranking it.
CHeck for spark, it may be your crank speed sensor in the distributor
