Volkswagen Touareg TDI: hi , i am looking for wiring colour

This answer was rated:

hi , i am looking for wiring colour code for 04 touareg .wvgzzz7lz5d026315. uk car

this to wire up towbar electrics so just the rear light/indicators would do

is it better to pick up the wires at j345 (trailer detection control- if i have it)

If you try to wire a trailer harness directly into the wiring, it will throw a fault and turn off those lights, as it will see too high of a voltage draw at that circuit and assume it is high resistance (ie, a nearly burned out bulb)

The Touareg has a trailer module available, but it does not come installed stock- it is installed with the trailer hitch, and has to be programmed into the diagnostic control module to be recognized.

I can get you the wiring colors if you're still interested after that- I would just need your VIN

In addition- the brake lights are the same as the tail light bulbs- they are just intensified in brightness to show that braking is enabled- so no way to differentiate two different circuits there. It is all done by pulse width modulation (duty cycle) rather than voltage.
