Chris VW Master Tech :

Hello and thankyou for using just answer. i suspect from the info you have given that your problem lies with the camshaft and hydraulic tappets, they are prone to wearing and causing the T5 to run rough and popping back through the airfilter box, you will need to remove the rocker cover and inspect the camshaft and hydraulic tappets for wear, you will probaly find excessive wear on camshaft and poss a hole in the top of some of the hydraulic tappets, this is a common issue on these T5 vans i only diagnosed and confirm this fault on another T5 only last week, hope this helps Chris

thank you
