I replaced the front axel ball joints and tie rods on a 71 vw beetle now the left side of car is higher than the right

Those are not adjustable, they have a torsion bar spring type suspension and it is set with the center bolt on the front beam. Thats why I said they may have the control arms mounted wrong, about the only thing you could do is take a good look at both upper and lower control arms and see if they are assembled the same. Also check to see if either side is hanging up and causing not to go back to the stop position. Its very possible that one side of the torsion bar is weaker then the other which could cause this also. I know this must be frustrating to you, but at the worst you may have to look into talking with whitney and have them warranty it out. They should stand behind their products. Now if the after market front end is using a different type torsion bar it could be that the arms are installed one tooth off and it could be you can pull the arm off your lower side and kick up one knotch. This you would have to take up with whitney and perhaps even the manufacturer that they got the part from. I'd put a call into them and explain your situation and let them know just how unhappy you are with the product and perhaps you will get some sort of satisfaction from that. I wish I had something else to tell you, but there just isn't. They are a very simple front end and honestly it is weird that you are having this prob. Let me know if you have anymore questions ok. Ya know there is one other thing that can throw it off on the front, but if it sat fine before you started I would think it would be ok. But if you have a rear torsion bar that is weak or broken it can throw your front end off also. But like I said, if it was fine when you started it should still be ok. Just another thought here.
