2006 volkswagen jetta: my key and from the latch..wont open

I have a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta and my trunk will not open. I tried from my key and from the latch on door. There is no sound and the trunk won't open. Please tell me how to fix this problem!

Yes. I believe the new body style starting in 2006.

You will probably have to fold down the rear seat and get into the trunk and remove the trim cover to get access to the trunk latch so you can realease the lock. We have seen issues with the trunk latches going bad. Do you have your vin#? handy so i can try to look for a picture to show you what screws to remove to take off the trunk trim panel

Ok heres a picture that might help you out

Look at #2 in the picture thats where your emergency pull is try using that to release your trunk if that does not work remove the #1 screws there is 4 and carefully pull down on the trim cover then after its removed then you will be able to see the latch then you will be able to disengage it there but try the emergency pull first i hope this helps
