How do I replace an ignition coil on a 2003 jetta?
It is not too hard of a job if you know which pieces to remove.

If it has a secondary air pump you have to remove that first.
It is easiest if you remove the 3 6 mm hex bolts.
Remove the plastic hoses by pinching and wiggling them loose.
Be careful, they break easily. When you are re-installing it, it
can help to spray some carb cleaner on the o-ring to temporarily lube it up.

To remove the coil you have to remove the 3 5mm hex or 10 mm bolts.
Transfer the spark plug wires and connect to the new coil.
Reinstall and your done.
