It just pops out of there, it's a pain sometimes. I would recommend against using a screwdriver or you will shatter your windshield. We have a special plastic wedge that we normally use but I have grabbed it with my fingers in the corner near where it ends and just pulled it out before. Before you put it back in you need to clean the groove that it pops into to get the dirt out and then put some wd40 in it. If you don't clean the groove your windshield can shatter from the force it will put on it.
