2003 V70 with about 190K miles. Has always run great.

Customer Question

2003 V70 with about 190K miles. Has always run great. Started smoking under hood shortly after start up. Now will not restart. Fluid levels are all good, as far as I can tell (oil, coolant).
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: Has been a few months, but we change when the car tells us oil change is needed.
JA: Are you fixing your V70 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: not much this time, other than checking fluids, and trying to start
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: thats all i know at this time, thanks

sorry - i'm not able to take a live call at this time. As I said, the engine is turning over, but sounds as if it will not "fire" and start, if that makes sense.

NO need to call, ignore the pop up.

Did you notice the smoke coming from the belt side?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
thanks - I'm wondering if it could be something electric?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
possibly - hard to tell the exact area the smoke was coming from when i first opened the hood.

Do you have access to a scan tool?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I had already shut the engine down, and of course it is not smoking anymore, i don't have an exact location
