At minus 5 degrees, low coolant stop engine light comes on

at minus 5 degrees, low coolant stop engine light comes on when I start car. it goes off in less than a minute after rah car starts and does not come back on
JA: Has your vehicled stalled? Has anyone run a diagnostic test to pull the trouble code?
Customer: vehicle has not stalled
JA: What is the model/year of your Volvo?
Customer: 2012 xc 60
JA: Are you fixing your XC 60 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: about to add coolant
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It does not happen when it is slightly warmer like 10 above

Hey how are you.

That coolant sensor is either reading wrong at these temperature or you have a leak ,do a pressure test to be sure

I would also inspected the coolant sensor connector and spray electrical contact cleaner(buy from local p[arts store ) on retest ,you mentioned add coolant ,are you leaking ?

and make sure the antifreeze mix is correct .

Does not appear to be leaking.

Check sensor connection or replace if no leaks and keeps happening

do a pressure test ,just in case there is a leak you can not see if the coolant reservoir is low now
