JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: no but I'm pretty sure its because the battery was dead over a few days

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If battery power was lost then the code would need to be entered when power was restored but if the radio isn't working at all then you have a deeper issue. If it's not working at all then there is either an internal issue or a loss of power or ground to the radio.
