Hi .

The P1618 is a code for volvo codes ECM-530D.

This diagnostic trouble code indicates there are one or more emission-related diagnostic trouble codes stored in the automatic transmission control module (TCM).
Diagnostic trouble code (P1618) ECM-530D is stored if this control module requests that the engine management system lights the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).

Substitute Value
none
Possible Source
one or more diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in automatic transmission control module.
Fault Symptom[s]
varies depending on which diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been stored
So you need to find out what code is stored in the transmission control module, remedy that and then clear all the codes.

What this all means is you need a good top scan tool ,(not a code reader) to check for TCM (Transmission ) malfunction codes .

You will have to check an Indy shop specializing in Volvo's. or a Volvo Dealer .
