Hello, I'm Brandon.

Have you done a coolant pressure test?

There is a tool where you could push pressure into the coolant system. The pressure will be the best tool for this diagnose.

I pressurized the system up to 15psi for an hour and didn't see any leaks. The owners said that had to add coolant about once a week. Could it be a leaky head gasket?

I did notice that the coolant level in the reservoir dropped a couple inches when I pressurized the system. I put a vacuum on the cooling system to pull out some of the air and now it doesn't drop as much under pressure.

Do you think it would be worth doing a gas test on the cooling system?

First pressurize the system up to 20 psi and see if it will hold for half hour.

Yes, it could be a leaky head gasket if he had to refill it every week.

Yes, I would recommend to perform Combustion Leak test to see if there is CO in the coolant.
