My interiror front roof lights will not switch on when I

Customer Question

my interiror front roof lights will not switch on when I open any of the doors.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the door switches?
Customer: I have checked the fuses and they seem ok. How can I check the door switches?
JA: What is the model/year of your Volvo?
Customer: V50 2011
JA: Are you fixing your V50 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am trying to fix it myself. I have disconnected the roof panel (with the lights, switches etc.) and have measured the voltage on the connector (16 small sockets). The reading lights will come on when the ignition is swtiched on. The green led comes on when connected. I have measured 12 V on the power feed so power for the roof lights should be there. Since the lights do not come on when any of the doors open a flaw in one of the door swithces was not my first suspision. do you have any suggestions?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, not that I can think of now. I must say, I have never tried this service but this seems fantastic! Thanks for your support so far.

Meanwhile I was able to solve the problem. It turned out to be a fuse afterall.
Strange since the Volvo mechanic said the fuses were ok.
Thanks anyway.
