Open circuit cylinder 6 2008 s80 2.9 non-turbo. periodic

Customer Question

open circuit cylinder 6 2008 s80 2.9 non-turbo. periodic rough idle has me confused. Codes also show timing is off and intermittent cylinder pressure. I am new to diagnosing modern autos.
JA: Is the rough idle intermittent or consistent?
Customer: intermittent but becoming more common
JA: Are you fixing your S80 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, trying to fix figure out myself. New car to me. miles of 166K. I have installed new plugs, all coils appear sound and functioning, used a stethoscope and heard all injectors operating, although I have not listened to number 6 since this problem cropped up. Cleaned the throttle body manually while still on the manifold, but that produced no change.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nothing I can think of

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose) I prefer to work when others don't, I am here around lunch and after dinner till after midnight.

  • Sorry no one has helped yet.
  • This is not an answer to your question, just an inquiry if your still needing/wanting help. Because I believe I can help.
  • Can I get the codes?
  • So far this looks to be a wiring concern between the computer and coil or injector.
