I need to replace the intake breather valve on a 2006 Volvo

Customer Question

I need to replace the intake breather valve on a 2006 Volvo XC70, which sits right under the intake ports ands fuel rails. I have been told, I need to remove the motor mount bolts, raise the car up/ Then put a transmission jack under the motor, lower the cat to lift the motor 5-6 inches, so I may remove and replace the filter. How dumb!
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Starts OK, has become a gas hog, and yo can hear and feel the engine running rough.
JA: Are you fixing your XC70 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have a good friend who is a Volvo Service rep. His son is a volvo tech. they do most things after hours, and under the table. Son just moved and joined the state police. I am very experiences with working on cars, used to build Pro Mods. Volvo design really pisses me off. Car has 75.775. and I can see oil around the breather
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: If I had the right Jacks, I would do this myself. I do not understand why I cannot take the fuel rail off to replace it faster.

How can I do this myself. Replacing the timing chain is easier.
