2000 s40: camshaft position sensor...replacing

Resolved Question:

we have a 2000 s40, that is setting code p0014. camshaft position sensor. is it just a matter of replacing it, or is there anything else i should be looking at?

Brian :

welcome, this code usually a peers when the varible valve timing valve is malifuntioning. this valve is located under the spark plug cover. it is on the front part of engine behind cam sprocket on top of the cylinder head. it is bolted on by 4 8mm bolts. you can try and clean it with carb cleaner but usually you just need to replace it. this is very common.I will see if I can find you a picture
