turn key switch to number 2

then shift it all the way to lowest setting

I am really having trouble with the first step - there is a large silver frame around the black inset cover of the great shift - this has a S button on it and the lights to indicate the manual shifting.
Is it the black internal frame or the large silver frame that I pry of first

I am trying to connect an ipod adaptor to the radio hu-859. it requires that I connect a wire to the constant 12 volt power supply - how do I identify this wire.

If you have a test light, you can probe the conectors for 12v

 

maybe another expert will tell us what color, i need to dig it up
