2001 V70: The immobilizer message came..keys..Cross Country..AWD.

The immobilizer message came on and car will not start. We tried both keys in lock. We have 2001 V70 Cross Country AWD. We would like to re program or ? without towing to a dealer. Please help. Thanks,

try locking and unlocking the car 3 times in the drivers door using the key. if this doesnt work you will most likely need to replace the immobilizer antenna ring. this is s pretty easy repair, you need to have a torx T27 and remove the 3 screws holding the bottom of the steering column cover on. the top part just pops up. the antenna ring in around the lock cylinder where you put the key. the part is aprox. $60. and would take less than 1/2 hr for you to replace.

yes the part needs to come from the dealer the aprt number is(NNN) NNN-NNNN
