VOLVO: XC 90..REDUCED engine..PREMIUM GAS, LIKE I..NEW DEALER -service

Resolved Question:

MY VOLVO - 2005, XC 90 STATED "REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE" TODAY ON MY WAY FROM HOME. I HAD JUST FILLED UP WITH PREMIUM GAS, LIKE I NORMALLY DO, AND THIS INFORMATION APPEARED. I PLAN TO TAKE TO THE VOLVO DEALER TOMORROW MORNING, BUT THIS IS A NEW DEALER -SERVICE DEPARTMENT. VOLVO CLOSED THE DEALER/SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. I FOLLOW ALL OF THE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. LESS THAN A MONTH AGO, THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP.

HiCustomer

The "Reduced Engine Performance" message can be caused by several things. For example, a mass airflow sensor, oxygen sensor, intake pressure sensor, etc. It can also be caused by a vacuum leak. The only way to tell is to have the diagnostic trouble codes checked and go from there. I'm certain the Volvo dealership will know how to handle your concern once they have the trouble codes.
