Good afternoon wherever you are in the world. I have a Cannon 6D and it seems like the auto focus in not working correctly. Like it takes a long time to get it right, but definitely not like it used too. It also keeps the red dots on the tv screen when i look at the pics that way. Thanks. *****: What camera mode are you shooting in? Does your camera focus better in some modes than in others?

If you are displaying pictures with the camera hooked up to the TV, then whatever the screen on the camera shows, the TV screen should also show. However, for the problem mentioned with that, I would recommend trying a factory settings reset.... if you have not done so already. (If you need instructions on how to do such a reset, let me know and I will provide instructions.

As for the focusing problem... I think you might find that a different lens provides better performance - it should, *if* the problem is with the lens or its interface, rather than with the camera body or the settings. Have you tried a different lens?

Also to be tried: taking a clean, dry soft cloth, and gently wiping off the contacts on the lens mount of the camera body (with the lens dismounted from it) and then wiping similarly and gently, the corresponding contacts on the lens assembly. That has some chance of helping.

If things turn out for the worst and it needs service-repairing, then it would be reasonable enough: autofocus problems are usually problems with the equipment rather than the settings. However, making sure whether it is the lens assembly or the camera body that is at fault - if possible, by switching lens assemblies - would be good to undertake first.
