I have been using it but just recently the automatic lens protector will not open when I turn it on. I want to have it fixed

Hi,

Because your camera isonly 6 months old, it is still covered under Panasonic's 1 year warranty. You can get a free repair or replacement from the manufacturer usin the information found at the links below.

If you are unablee to use the warranty service, the only safe "do it youself" thing to try would be to spray clean canned air into the lens area. This may clear grit that is possibly hampering the movement of the lens covers.

Please keep in mind that my diagnosis & solutions provided are directly dependent on the accuracy of your description of the problem. As with any "do it yourself" fixes, success is a "team effort", since I can't see or touch the camera, and relies on the customer's manual dexterity and ability to follow the instructions well. If the "do it yourself" approach doesn't work out for you and you need conventional repair, please let me know.
