Cannot get pictures to...

Cannot get pictures to upload from camera to computer. Computer says it does not recognize the device. Is it my camera or some setting in my computer or both?

Technician's Assistant: Did you download all the necessary software to connect your camera to your computer (e.g. Canon EOS Utility)? Is your software the latest version?

Windows 10 I am not sure. Have only had this problem recently have not had problems in the past

Technician's Assistant: If you are using a USB cable, are you using the one that came with your camera or an aftermarket one?

Don't think so/ Am having the same problem with my Sony camera
