I actually have two...

I actually have two issues. my K3 took a dreadful fall and needs repair. since I have replaced it with a K3-II I'm not without a camera, but would love to explore the possibility of repairing the K3. the second issue is regarding repair for my DA* 16-50mm lens. The lens often sticks when I try to zoom, and I'm unable to zoom below 20mm. Being retired and on a fixed income I'm very sensitive to cost knowing that an estimate is difficult without seeing the equipment.

Technician's Assistant: Has there been any damage to your camera recently (e.g. from dropping or from dirt getting in the lens)?

The camera was attached to a tripod at the time it fell to the ground. The lens in question was not attached to the camera at the time. it had not been exposed to dirt. It had actually been repaired several years ago. it almost feels like a ring inside the lens prevents it from zooming. if I shake it just right it will eventually zoom, but not for very long, and not consistently.

Technician's Assistant: What kind of battery does your camera use? Have you tried taking out the battery and replacing it?

The camera will turn on, however the mode dial has broken
