Canon Powershot SX20 IS -- my lcd screen is white and I want to do a complete reset but my reset icon is shaded in the viewfinder - tried hard reset, replaced all batteries - no joy - any suggestions

Purchased used 2 years ago - out of warranty

Technician's Assistant: What have you tried so far with your PowerShot?

Made sure that function knob is in "P" - tried hard reset protocol - removed memory battery, double clicked power button, after camera cycled on then off, i powered up and turned off - removed all batteries and let camera sit for 5 minutes, replaced all batteries with new and powered up - no joy

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and try to turn it on.

Thank you Richard - I have tried this exercise twice and No Joy- the Reset Icon is still shaded in the viewfinder menu and the lcd screen is still white- i am willing to accept the lcd screen fault, being white means the flourescent light is good but the problem is the image filter- I may need to replace the screen, and I can use the viewfinder in the interim- I need to be able to reset the camera per instructions: " select "RESET ALL" in the "TOOLS" dropdown menu"-but this cannot be selected if the "Reset All" is shaded-Please Advise

Thank You Richard - this camera is used and over 2 years old - so out of warranty- I'll reolace the LCD screen and hope that solves the problem - I will leave a satisfactory rating
