I have a Panasonic...

I have a Panasonic TZ70 camera and it is not focussing properly. It is giving me a message System Error (focus).

Technician's Assistant: What camera mode are you shooting in? Does your camera focus better in some modes than in others?

I am using the iA mode but it gives me the same message in any mode

Technician's Assistant: Is your camera's lens clear of any dirt, scratches, or smudges?

It looks OK but I could clean it. The lens has not retracted back even if I turn the camera off

Hi Richard, that didn't work .Same message and lens still extended.

Ok, we will see if the Lens assembly can be unjammed.

Can you turn it upside down on something that vibrates such as an electric razor.

Then power it on and off up to 10 times while it is vibrating and tell me if this allows the Lens to move, clearing the jam please.

That has not worked. Camera won't switch off now.

Can you still access the menu on it?

It is the internal mainboard that has faulted, this now confirms it
