Unfortunately, that is a bad sign since it means the camera has an internal failure with it not being able to read cards.

Since the camera is outside of warranty, it would end up costing more to repair the camera than to buy a new one.

I am sorry that you feel the accurate answer is poor since you are upset with the camera. You are more than welcome to repair this camera and spend more on the repair than buying the same model camera online.
