Well I'm here trying to figure that out. I've looked through my manual, tested the flash and it works, it's just any time I try to change the flash settings to an external flash it says the "menu is unavailable or flash is unsupported"

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and turn it on.

Tell me please if it now operates correctly

No. That did not work. Is the shutter supposed to be some sort of reset for the camera? It still says the same thing it said before.
