I have a JVC Digital Video Camera GR-D33U. The unit does not

I have a JVC Digital Video Camera GR-D33U. The unit does not play a tape and is in the EQ3 Unit in Safeguard Mode and Eject and Reinsert Tape Mode. I have ejected the tape and the unit is still not working. How to do I play my tapes on this machine.
JA: How old is your GR-D33U?
Customer: I do not know. I purchased it used from a Pawn Shop and have had it for 4 years.
JA: What have you tried so far with your GR-D33U?
Customer: I have removed the electrical power and battery, waited 3 minutes, replace the battery in the machine, put in the tape and I still get the message that it is in safeguard mode.
JA: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I appreciate the help is fixing this problem. I like the video camera and I have many video tapes made on the video camera.

The Safeguard mode on your unit is usually an indication that there is an issue with the tape drive running at the correct speed.
