Nikon D7100 camera. When...

Nikon D7100 camera. When I push the shutter, it stops and I need two or three presses to take a photo. Just happened today. Received camera just a few months ago from work.

Technician's Assistant: How old is your D7100?

Fairly new, I think.

Technician's Assistant: What have you tried so far with your D7100?

Tried using different lenses, MUp mode and wiping silver ring on camera body with no luck.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?

There may be some contamination beneath the button, preventing it from connecting properly.

The camera will need to be disassembled so that the shutter button contacts can be cleaned using electronic contact cleaner.

A local electronics repair shop can do this for you, or you can return the camera to Nikon since it is likely still within the warranty period:
