I am not sure what is wrong with my Pentax K100D. A family

This answer was rated:

I am not sure what is wrong with my Pentax K100D. A family member borrowed it and when it came back to me it won't take pictures. The lens "adjusts" and the flash goes off, but no picture is taken.
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: The only name on it is Pentax K100D. It is approx. 4 years old.
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I don't really know too much about trouble shooting. I have tried taking pictures in all of its settings. I don't know what happened as a family member had it. I was hoping to find a camera shop to look at it to see if it could be repaired but they seem to be few and far between.
JA: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. I don't know what else to say unless I am able to answer specific questions.

Hi there and welcome

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and turn it on.

Tell me please if it now operates correctly

Thank you
