Hello, I have a Rebel T1i...
Hello,
I have a Rebel T1i and the camera just started giving me an error that “The card can not be accessed. Reinsert/change card or format with the camera”
Previously, I have had no problems with the same card, so the problem must be with the camera. I looked in the sd slot and there is nothing in there or obvious issues with the pins. Any idea what could be the problem?

Test the card in another device to confirm it is still working ok, or test a different card in your camera.

Just got a new card and tried it, same thing...

Hi Emily, if it won't work with any card then there is a problem with the card reader.

If you cannot see any obvious bent pins then one of the pins may have broken off.

The card reader connection will need to be replaced.

A local camera repair technician or electronics repair shop can do this for you, or you can arrange to return the camera to Canon online:
