Hello. I have a Nikon Coolpix P510 (yes very old) and the set up menu does not display all of the options it did before. Can you assist

Technician's Assistant: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?

It is 4 years old. Nikon Coolpix P510

Technician's Assistant: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?

Nothing happened. It literally happened overnight. I woke up the next morning and the little red clock was blinking. I went to reset the time and the menu is not there.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?

No this it all

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is***** will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I would advise a factory reset, I think. But the little red clock may mean something too...

So: is the little red clock icon still showing or blinking?

The little red clock means I need to update the time, however, that option is not available in the set up menu. I have also reset all settings to default values. Is there a different way to to a factory reset?
Camera and Video Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

If so, then set the time and date... then it should stop showing a red clock.

If it shows up again, after doing that, once you have turned it Off for a while, then On again, then you may need to have a small battery (for the real-time clock/calendar function, to keep it running when the camera is Off) in the camera.

Let me know... if you need instructions for the factory reset, also.

I do need instructions for the factory reset if they are different than what I have already done
Camera and Video Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

Aside from MENU and then RESET ALL, and confirm that choice after activating that choice... there is holding down the ISO button and the +/- button at the same time for about 5 seconds. (Those buttons may have a little green dot next to them, if your Nikon is like others.)

Try the one of those you did not do, and let me know what happens to the menus, and also whether the flashing red clock shows up again.

Can you please tell me what the iso button looks like or what I should look for. There is no green dot
Camera and Video Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

That button should say ISO, simply. If your camera is old, it may be rubbed-off though...

Ask Your Own Camera and Video Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
There is nothing that says ISO and the camera is in good condition, nothing is rubbed off. I can access ISO in the manual settings screen but there is not a button
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
If you cannot help me please advise. Everything you have suggested other than the factory reset I had done prior to asking my question.
Camera and Video Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

I think your camera may have a serious problem. But, try this too:

Try removing the batteries, and leaving the camera on a (dry, non-humid, non-dusty) shelf for overnight. Then put the batteries back in and try the camera again.
