I have a Panasonic...

I have a Panasonic camcorder (SDR-S7P). Have not been using it for a few months but it has been working fine before. Yesterday I want to use it. It's out of power. SO I want to recharge it by pluging in the power socket for > 3 hours. However there is no response at all as if it's dead. DO you know what the problem is ? I have all the parts.

Technician's Assistant: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?

It's Panasonic SDR-S7P. I have it for maybe 5 years now

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

It's working fine 1 year ado. Just not working at all now. I just find out and haven't try anything yet

There are a number of possible reasons and causes.

You need to narrow down what the root cause could be. Have you tried switching batteries? Please do so. It is possible that one of the batteries will no longer accept a charge. The next thing to try is a different power adapter. If you do not have a spare, you can usually get one for a very low amount of money.

If you try a new batter and a new power adapter and the unit will still not even attempt to charge, then there is likely an issue with the capacitors or the power board on the camera. If this is the case, there is no configuration that will fix it. You need to go with a repair or replacement. Be careful, as not all camera repair shops do a great job of repairing digital camcorders.
