The White Balance setting might perhaps be set to something that changes sunset colors in the way you describe - the lighting conditions for such a sunset photograph being rather different from the usual.

The first thing to try would be a hard reset of the camera. Which would eliminate White Balance and similar settings from being a factor in this problem.

That can be done by going to

Menu,

then select Setup (the Toolbox in the lower right corner),

and under the Main Settings, select the Initialize option.

(Confirm that choice, if necessary, and wait a few minutes if necessary also. Then try the camera again to see if White Balance performance or Color Balance performance has normalized.)

If that does not work... then, try using the Sunset Mode, obviously (- if you have not found it already - and if you need instructions on where to find it in your camera's functions, let me know and I will instruct you further.)
