My Nikon S9900 camera will not turn on. The battery is charged and it worked 10 days ago. The camera ia 18 months old and has not been dropped or damaged. I tried an alternate battery and it did not help.
JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and has turning it on been a problem in the past?
Customer: Its not a tv its a camera!
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It failed yesterday. I googled the problem and the suggestions amounted to taking the battery and the memory card out and then putting them back in.. it did not work
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Hi there and welcome

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and try to turn it on.

Tell me please if it now starts

Thank you

Dear ***** - I did it twice and it did not start... nothing happened

Are you seeing any lights show up on the camera at all?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Nothing at all, completely non-responsive

Thanks

It is the internal mainboard that has faulted, this is the only cause left for this

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the camera to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
