JA: What Canon model do you have?

JA: What have you tried so far with your Canon?
Customer: switch on and off
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?

An error 5100 code means that the ink carriage has problems.

Usually something has jammed the cartridge carriage to cause this error, or it is not moving smoothly.

With the machine turned off and the power cord unplugged, open the machine and inspect the inside - can you see any stray pieces of paper along the paper's usual route that may be causing an obstruction?
