JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: About 4-5 years old
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just started a few weeks ago. I tried removing and re-attaching a few times. Please note, I have no problem with the original quandary 18-200 lense which is older than 10 years old.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?

Please confirm what you mean by "off single"?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
In the view finder, a single keeps flashing up as if to say the lens is off or is not functioning properly. This does not happen with my other lens.
Expert:  Pete replied 5 months ago.
Have you checked the lens for any sign of damage?
Have you tested the lens on another camera body?
If the lens has the same problem with a different camera then the lens will require a repair.
