Olympus Pen E-PL6 camera: 3 problems 1. sometimes screen

Customer Question

Olympus Pen E-PL6 camera: 3 problems 1. sometimes screen goes black and will not take pictures. When the lens is slightly turned the screen sometimes comes back.
2. Right now the camera is taking 2 pictures every time the button is pressed. 3. The camera is taking pictures without the button being pressed.
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Olympus Pen E-PL6 camera 2 or 3 years old
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Nothing. The camera was not dropped or anything. I am using a 14-135 lens but this did not start right after I put the new lens on. The shooting by itself started this weekend and I have no idea what to do. The 2 shots per button press seems to be intermittent.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No I guess not.

First, try a factory reset on the camera and let me know if that helps:

Select [Reset/Myset] in W Shooting Menu 1.

Select [Reset] and press Q.

Highlight [Full] and press Q.

Select [Yes] and press Q.

Let me know if that offers any improvement at all?
