I have just experienced a chip or image processing issue

Customer Question

I have just experienced a chip or image processing issue with the imaging chip on my Nikon D800. Can I send you a jpeg of the issue that shows the problem?
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: Nikon D800 3 yrs. old
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It is a complete 'Ghost in the machine" issue. I was doing a series of identical shots at an industrial shoot. Of the six exposures using identical lighting and camera settings, one had severe image problems. Can I send you a jpeg to show you the issue? Camera has worked perfectly since then.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just if I can send a jpeg of the problem.

Hello, my name is***** to Justanswer! Give me just a few minutes to look up some specifics, I'm working on this now.

Do you still need help with this?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
No, I am retiring the camera and replacing it. I just can't have a piece of gear randomly go silly on me, particularly when I don't know it's failed until much later when I'm in postproduction. Thanks just the same.

Hi there and welcome

Just to check, did you try to use a different memory card in the camera to rule out this as the cause?

Please let me know

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
As I've already explained, the camera has been put out of service. Please do not bill me for any advice as I have already indicated that it is no longer relevant. Thank you.
