Hi Martin,

Thanks for replying back to me.

Is the MacBook connected to a power supply when you try to connect the camera?

Have you tried using different USB ports on the MacBook?

Is the camera turned on?

Have you tried using a different USB cord?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
the power is connected, and the camera is turned on. There is only one USB port on my MacBook. The USB cord works perfectly with Photo, the recent Apple programme that updates iPhoto. Still, I will try the USB cord from an earlier Canon camera, and see if it works.Martin Bibby

Correction. I no longer have the old USB cord.

Ok, when you say "The USB cord works perfectly with Photo, the recent Apple programme that updates iPhoto" do you mean it updated iPhoto with photos from your Powershot G15 camera?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No. iPhoto has been replaced by a new application on new Macs. It is called Photo. It works the same way, however. But what is significant is that Photo had no trouble downloading photos from my camera, using the same USB cord. Ergo, it is not a problem with the cord, nor the camera. It must be something wrong with the Image Browser/Camera Window application. Should I delete them, and download a fresh version of Image Browser?
Expert:  Pete replied 6 months ago.

Yes you could try removing and reinstalling the latest version of the application again from the Canon website.
